Practical Gemmology for Diploma Students

A one day workshop for those who are studying gemmology, and in particular for those who are preparing for the Practical Examination of the Gem-A. Diploma in Gemmology. This offers students a chance to apply their skills with instruments and examine modern synthetics, treated, composite, unusual and rare gemstones which seldom come their way.Projected images of gemstone inclusions and absorption spectra may be viewed as a comparison to those seen by microscope and spectroscope. This advanced course is also suitable for qualified gemmologists who wish to refresh their skills with instruments and examine modern synthetic, treated and composite gemstones together with the more unusual and rarer species.

Attendance is strictly limited to four people to ensure those instruments and specimens are freely available, and individual attention can be given.

Join us in the Gem Lab. of long established family jewellers and share in our fifty years of experience of gems and gemmology. The workshops will commence at 10a.m. and finish at 5p.m. with one- hour lunch break. Further details will be issued on acceptance of application.
